I have never had as much food on a food tour in my life! It was all delicious, and we learned a lot about the local businesses and history of Canandaigua along the way. Our leader did a great job keeping the energy up, and was very sweet to make sure I was comfortable along the route with my 6-month pregnant belly. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Canandaigua! PS. Arrive hungry!

Suzanne was wonderful. Along with really tasty foods along the way, she gave us a brief history of the town. We didn’t need to eat, before or after, the tour.

My bf and I took the food tour in Canandaigua on 6/17/16. Our guide was Suzanne and we all had the best time. She is very knowledgeable about her hometown. The restaurants and staff were awesome. I never thought there would be so much food! We were so full (thanks Avi from Flavors) that we had to take food home. We were very grateful that the last two stops only involved drinking vinegars and tea. I would recommend this tour to anyone who would like to learn a little about Canandaigua and eat some wonderful food. The food is pre-arranged (no ordering from a menu), so you may have to be a little adventurous. Everything was delicious!

Suzanne (and the local food merchants) provide a fun & interactive adventure through the Canandaigua restaurant scene. Bonus stops after the tamale, cinnamon bun, Rueben, and multiple (and I mean multiple) Indian dishes at the local olive oil and tea establishments. Plus………a narrative of local history. Make sure to go on this tour hungry!

Well done. Each restaurant presented their signature dish and by the end of the tour we were full!! This is not a tasting tour. We were given a good amount of food, and every dish was delicious. Our guide gave us information about each restaurant before going in. I would go again if another town or city was included. Lots of fun, good people, and great food!

Most fabulous afternoon. Three and a half hours of local history, delicious food, meeting with chefs and merchants, sharing their trade and some secrets! We are locals who are sorry we didn’t participate sooner and will be urging all our friends to join us next year. Our well informed guide directed us around our town with a level of energy and excitement leaving us feeling happy and blessed to call Canandaigua, NY “The Chosen Place” our home!!! Thank you Suzanne, you made our weekend a joyous one we will never forget.

Enjoyed the background information Liked the owners of the business visiting with us. Food was fabulous. The tea shop and oil/vinegar shop were my favorite. But really all were great.

I found Canandaigua on the map as a nice stop on a long ride between Boston and Buffalo. The food tour was a fun way to see the highlights of the Town and learn about local food culture. We liked all of the food and were pleasantly full by the end of the tour. This tour is new to the area, first season. Our favorites were F. Oliver’s Oils and Vinegars, Flavors Indian Restaurant, and Good Life Tea. Each of the hosts at these three stops was enthusiastic about their food and products, telling the group stories and happily answering all of our questions. We did not meet representatives at the other three stops. This tour was good and has the potential to be great as the guide further develops her relationships with the shop owners at all of the locations.

By the way- We arrived early with enough time to visit the “Farmers Market” where we talked to local growers about their products and purchased honey, garlic, and apples which made us hungry for the food tour. Check online for times and dates.

Having been on several food tour this rates in the top 5. If not for this tour I probably wouldn’t have gone in several these resturants and stores. Such a variety from Mexican to Indian with a little bakery also. Plan on going again with a different group. Always great to learn history and eat at the same time.

We had a lovely day sampling a variety of foods, teas, olive oils and balsamic vinegars. The chefs and proprietors of the different businesses were friendly and informative. The food was delicious and abundant. Sue’s knowledge of the area was very informative and her love of the community is evident. It was an enjoyable way to spend the afternoon. We highly recommend it to all.

I have gone on six food tours in San Francisco and would rate the Canandaigua Food Tour as high as the best one in San Francisco. The six stops were varied, interesting and provided high quality and quantity food items. The first stop was the Rio Tomatlan Mexican restaurant. Pleasant atmosphere and employees. We received a full lunch. I am going to imitate our tour guide and not give away details. Keeping the food at each stop a surprise was half the fun of the tour and the other half was the food. Something that surpasses the tours in San Francisco is that we sat at each location instead of standing and we were served water at each stop. The amount of walking is very manageable. The second stop is the Sweet Solutions Bakery. All I can say is I wish that they would open a shop in my town. We then went to Eddie O’Briens. Atmosphere and employees were pleasant at all stops. We left restaurant with a container of leftovers. We walked across Main Street to the Good Life Tea. Very informative and although I enjoy tea, my favorite beverage was a sample of soy milk and matcha. Made some purchases there and at the bakery. We then went to Flavors Indian Restaurant. Impressed with owner, his story and his hospitality. My group and I left with full stomachs and many containers of leftovers. The final stop was F. Oliver’s Oils and Vinegars. Again very informative. Our tour guide made our afternoon very enjoyable with a mix of history and unbelievable food. I am planning on going back in August with some friends.
